The Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003, implements the InfoSoc Directive, updating the protection of copyright and related rights in line with the issues raised by the digital environment and obligations arisen from the WIPO Treaties, 1996. It was laid before Parliament on the 3rd October 2003 and came into force on the 31th October 2003.

 

Some provisions were added in order to implement Article 6 of the InfoSoc Directive.
