From the Netherlands I would like to say hello to everyone who has contributed to the project. We started to think about the project in March 2003 and now we seem to be in the final stage and in the mean time the project has evolved a lot.

We hope that the project will also give you the opportunity to meet people from other countries that cover the same subjects as you. You might meet intresting people if you take the time to sign up to the forum which should only take you 10 seconds. Afterall you are all experts on copyright laws.

We hope we can also bring contributors from govermental and industrial parties in here so we have a large base of support for the project in general.

Thank you for your contribution and we're looking forward to your feedback. It would also be wise to introduce yourself over here so we all know what you do, where you do it and if nice to know, why you do it

I am the co-author (with Anne-Catherine Lorrain) of the french contribution. I am currently working on a PhD thesis on ... the protection of technological measures , at the Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche en Droit de l'Immatériel (Paris).

Feel free to contact me if you have any question on the french legislation or whatever.

Hi. I am from germany and i would like to thank all contributors for this page.
I hope it will help clear up the biggest clouds arround the new copyright law.

I personally consider the new copyright as shortsighted and just notoriously capitalistic. That may sound harsh but i came to that conclusion after thinking about it longer and looking a bit back at history how copyright started out as a way to "stimulate literature and public knowledge" not even mentioning something about common peoples freedom to copy literature being considered a too basic freedom. Everyone could do so if he liked and it was legal business. It was thought of like "breathing". Nobody needs to allow you breathing. But nowadays our culture gets choked by the law. We need to allow it breathing again before it gets blue and then maybe "Walt Disney"(R) pink.

Chris

No it's a project of private firms. See http://www.euro-copyrights.org/index/0/3/1 under "Contributors"
